[ARCHIVED] April Severe Weather Data Call Notice

SC DOI logo

In accordance with South Carolina Code of Laws Section 38-13-160, the South Carolina Department of Insurance is requiring all authorized property and casualty insurance companies, including licensed insurers, eligible surplus lines insurers, and companies that write private and/or excess flood insurance coverage, to complete the attached claims reporting spreadsheet and return it to the Department.

Only claims relating to severe weather from April 12, 2020 to April 13, 2020 for South Carolina policies should be reported.  The first report is due Monday, April 27, 2020 for claims reported as of Wednesday, April 22, 2020.

All licensed property & casualty and approved surplus lines insurers must submit completed reports. In the event a company has no claims to report and does not anticipate any claims to be reported, only one report is required indicating that there are no claims.  If the company receives relevant claims at a later date, then it should begin reporting in subsequent submission windows.

The data required under this data call must be submitted as email attachments in Excel format.  In accordance with Section 38-13-160, company responses must and will be treated as strictly confidential; responses will be aggregated for purposes of public disclosure.
